To be eligible for a Regents exam waiver in June or August , students must pass the course sequence leading up to that Regents exam. Students may wish to take the Regents exam if they are not on track toward passing all of the necessary courses by June. Waivers are available for all 10 Regents exam subject areas. Students should contact their guidance counselor or a school administrator for more information on whether they are eligible to receive a Regents waiver.

The Regents are not used for college placement. There are many people who didn't do so well on the Regents exams end up doing fine in college. Quit generalizing. I have a regents diploma and all it has is a stamp saying something about regents certified. It doesn't matter and won't effect any schools you apply too. However, like a couple posters mentioned, you won't be able to graduate. I don't see why you need to pass 2 social studies tests yet only 1 math test?
I think that they should phase out the social studies requirements and instead require knowledge of AMC 10 type problems for Math and up to Physics for science You may not like them, but regardless, social studies are an important part of a high school education. A program such as the Regents should have a social studies requirement in order to be valid as a representation of success in a high school program.
